The holidays are all about cherishing time with family, so make sure you don't forget your senior loved ones who would love nothing more than doing something festive with you this December. In our work in the senior home care industry, we see that getting out into the community benefits seniors’ mental, physical, and emotional health, but it’s even more crucial during the holidays. Many elderly adults face intense loneliness this time of the year as they feel left out of the festivities. This season of giving, make sure you give your senior loved ones the gift of feeling wanted. Try these events with your senior loved one this December in Sebring.

- Carousel Of Lights, Nov 25 – Dec 27, 2017, On the Circle in Downtown Sebring

Carousel of Lights Come view the 31st annual Downtown Sebring Carousel of Lights as historic Circle Park illuminates again with an amazing display of festive holiday lights displayed each night from 6 to 9 p.m. In addition to the lights, this four-week long event will feature Santa Claus every night, a singing puppet show, kids games and miniature golf. Free to attend; small fee for activities.

- Christmas In The Park, Mon, December 4, 6pm – 8pm, Main St. Avon Park, FL.

The annual Christmas in the Park event in downtown Avon Park will take place at 6:00 pm. Always held the second Monday after Thanksgiving, Avon Park kicks off the Holiday Season in front of The Hotel Jacaranda, when choral groups gather to sing and Santa makes an appearance. Come enjoy festive decorations. Drinks, hot dogs and popcorn are available for purchase. For more information please call 863-453-3350.

- MAGI, Thu, December 7, 7pm – 9pm, Bible Fellowship Church, 3750 Hammock Rd, Sebring, FL 33872, USA.

Come experience Word of Life's spectacular Christmas production - MAGI. Cast and crew from WOL's Bible Institutes in New York and Florida travel throughout the U.S. presenting the true meaning of Christmas through creative use of music, drama and multimedia. - CookieFest, Sat, December 9, 10am – 1pm, Highlands Art League Inc, 351 W Center Ave, Sebring, FL 33870, USA.

Dec. 9: CookieFest: Stop by the Highlands Art League and find your inner pastry chef and artist at Cookiefest. Attendees can decorate holiday cookies with Chef Mac Gentleman, write letters to Santa and participate in holiday art and craft projects. Free to attend; 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

- Leisure Lakes Christmas Boat Parade, Sat, December 9, 12pm – 3pm, Lake Placid, FL.

The Leisure Lakes Home Owners Civic Association (LLHOCA) will again this year be sponsoring its annual Christmas Boat Parade. The parade will be begin at 12 noon on Saturday, Dec. 9 in Stearns Creek at the Lake June Road Bridge. Stearns Creek is also known as the main canal in the Leisure Lakes development. The parade will follow Stearns Creek to Lake Carrie and circle Lake Carrie before ending at the mouth of Stearns Creek. Traditionally participants decorate their boats and throw candy and other treats to children watching the parade. The parade is open to all persons with a legally registered watercraft suitable for navigating Stearns Creek. Although it is not necessary to decorate your boat to participate, awards will be given for the first, second and third place judged for their decorations. An award ceremony will be held following the parade at 3 p.m. at the Leisure Lakes Volunteer Fire Company Station. Please plan to be at the starting location at least 15 minutes before the start time to register your boat for awards. You may pre-register by contacting Bill Miller at 215-896-0775.

- SPAGHETTI DINNER, Tue, December 12, 4pm – 7pm, St John United Methodist Church, 3214 Grand Prix Dr, Sebring, FL 33872.

The St. John Spaghetti Dinner will be Tuesday, December 12, with seating at 4, 5, 6 p.m. Take-Out and Walk-In tickets available at the door. Cost per ticket is $8.00

- Plaid Tidings Christmas Concert, Sat, December 16, 7pm – 9pm, Circle Theatre, 202 Circle Park Dr, Sebring, FL 33870.

Come join the fun at this year’s Plaid Tidings Christmas Concert at 7 p.m. Saturday Dec. 16 at the Circle Theatre in downtown Sebring. Sponsored by the Champion For Children Foundation, the event features the performers of Porch Play Productions and invited guests including LaTasia Sherrill, Nala Price and characters Santa, Mrs. Claus, Olaf and Anna. Special guests from Acting Out will be performing as the Peanuts Gang as well. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at evenbrite.com. Children 4 and under will be admiited free with paid adult. The Top Hat Coffee Shop will be open during intermission.

- The Magic Of Christmas, Sat, December 16, 7:30pm – 9:30pm, Highlands News-Sun Center - Fair Grounds, 781 Magnolia Ave, Sebring, FL 33870.

Experience a Christmas Concert like no other. Watch Eirinn Abu with Manny Lopez LIVE at the Circle Theatre at 202 Circle Park Dr. in Downtown Sebring on December 22nd and 23rd at 7:00 p.m. All proceeds to benefit the Champion For Children Foundation. For tickets visit www.sunevents.com
